Arden & Amici Chocolate Chip Panettone
Panettone is the classic Italian holiday bread. Arden & Amici have given this Italian delicacy a chocolate twist with this Chocolate Chip Panettone from their festive bakery range. As you can probably tell from the sheer number of chocolate reviews on this blog, I am a chocoholic, so I was very excited to try the Chocolate Chip Panettone which Arden & Amici very kindly sent me.
The Arden & Amici Chocolate Chip Panettone features the same gorgeous packaging as the Classic Panettone, which I reviewed yesterday, except that fittingly the colours used are chocolate brown and gold. It would make an ideal gift for a chocolate lover or just anyone who loves fine food.
Once out of the box I could instantly smell the gorgeously buttery panettone. It was obvious that this was unmistakably a chocolate panettone, as the chocolate chips gave it a lovely cocoa aroma too. This Chocolate Chip Panettone was packed full of delicious chocolate chips. There are no candied fruits or sultanas, so it would be great for those who are not keen on dried fruit.
I loved the fact that this bread was loaded with chocolate chips. It gave the Panettone a slightly less fluffy texture, compared to the Classic Panettone, due to the denser nature of the chocolate chips, but the bread was still just as flavourful with an intensely rich taste. The indivicual chocolate chips give a delicious hit of cocoa flavour to the sweet buttery panettone. They are quite small and seemed to just melt away into the panettone with each mouthful.
It's probably no surprise that out of all the Arden & Amici Panettones we tried, this one disappeared the quickest. It was a big hit with my husband and children alike.
The Arden & Amici Chocolate Chip Panettone range is available in Waitrose for £8.99 for the 750g and £2.69 for the 100g. The latter mini panettone is also available on a 2 for £4 offer.

What's your favourite kind of panettone?
God, that sounds like Heaven!
ReplyDeleteI'm thinking of lightly toasting a slice and serving it with icrecream... Yum!
