Review: Limited Edition Monster Munch Webs and Wotsits Zombie Fingers
A couple of fun new Halloween themed products to the Walkers range, that also signal a welcome return of two previously available flavours. The Monster Munch Webs are Bacon flavoured and the Wotsits Zombie Fingers are Flamin' Hot flavour.
The Monster Munch Webs actually look virtually identical to the bacon flavoured Wotsits Wafflers I previously reviewed (does one line count as a review?). There's only 74 calories per pack of Monster Munch Webs which can probably be explained by the fact that there are so few crisps in the 14.9g(!) packet - literally only about 5 webs and a few smaller pieces. It's a shame because they're really quite tasty. The salty bacon flavour is partiularly well suited to this type of puffed corn snack and is very moreish.
The Wotsits Zombie Fingers are also a recycling of a previous Wotsit creation. I don't remember ever trying the Wotsits Flamin Hot variety the first time around, but I was pleasantly surprised by how tasty these are. The flavour is a lot nicer than regular Wotsits, which I'm not really a fan of (too stinky!). They're only mildly hot and are quite sweet really, but without any of the cheesiness of the original flavour. Younger children may find them too hot as they do have a slight burn in the aftertaste. The whole thing was more satisfying than the Monster Munch Webs, reflected in the fact that the packets are slightly fuller at 17.5g.
Overall these are both fun products and I especially enjoyed the Halloween theming.

I'd just picked up a pack of the Bacon Monster Munch when I got home to see your review - I'd thought the packet was particularly small and as I had some normal Beef Monster Munch in, you could really see the difference.
ReplyDeleteI'm not sure if it was how mine had been stored, but their texture seemed a little off compared with their regular snacks. Less fluffy, if that makes sense at all - but given the extra surface area that could be why. Like you I enjoyed the salty bacon flavour though! :)
That's an interesting point about the texture, they're definitely not the same as the regular Monster Munch. They're the same as the previous Wotsits Wafflers rather than Monster Munch, which is all quite confusing!
DeleteThey really are meagre portions aswell aren't they? It's quite shameful.
Thanks for the fab comment as always! :)
A year late, but do you remember wotsits when they were called "chipitos"?
