New Instore: Nakd Christmas Pud Bars & Cadbury Layers of Joy

A few great spots that were sent to me by Lucy W. after a shopping trip to Asda. Thanks for the brilliant photos Lucy! :)

Nakd Christmas Pud: There really isn't avoiding Christmas in the supermarkets anymore, but who cares when the products look this good. This is such a wonderfully festive edition from Nakd. It has the usual Nakd raw fruit & nut usual base of dates, raisins and cashews. There are also a few other new bars in the Nakd range (which I saw on their Twitter feed here); Nakd Bakewell Tart, Trek Peanut Power, Trek Berry Burst and Trek Cocoa Chaos.

Cadbury Layers of Joy: These chilled layered desserts are available in three flavours; Chocolate, Black Forest and Caramellionaire. I really want to try the Black Forest one!

Asda Millionaire's Melt in the Middle Puddings: This is described as a moist toffee cake with a melting caramel heart, covered in a Belgian chocolate ganache. Lucy actually tried this one and was disappointed with the overly sweet and dry sponge.

Thanks again to Lucy W! If you spot any new products instore then I'd love to hear from you - email me: grocerygems@gmail.com.

  1. I really want to try the Xmas Pud bar! It's not a flavour you see often but I reckon it'll work well with raw fruit and nuts. Ditto the Black Forest Layers of Joy.

    1. As in...I want to try the Black Forest pud, not that it works with fruit and nuts, lol. Although I'm sure it might..

    2. You're so right, the Christmas pudding flavours are ideal for this kind of fruit and nut bar. I can't wait to try one.

And lol don't worry I know what you mean. Again, I think the black forest flavours (cherry and cream) will be lovely in a Cadbury dessert. Do you remember the Costa Coffee black forest hot chocolate? I hope they bring those back this year!

    3. Ah yes...love those! I'm waiting for whatever Halloween flavours they do first though, I think it was chocolate orange mocha last year?

    4. I'm kind of addicted to Starbucks Pumpkin Spice latte at the moment so I hadn't thought of what Costa would offer for Halloween! I'm really in the mood for more of these seasonal drinks :)

  3. How much were the Asda puddings? I think I have to buy them.

Also, I am a bit tired of Cadburys "joy" range, seem to be milking it a bit now

    1. and to add to my firs. comment Is the asda puddings warm or chilled? I know it sounds like a silly question but usually the melt In the middle puddings are served warm/microwavable,

    2. Good questions :)

They're £2.25 for two puddings and the instructions on the packet are for heating them up in a microwave. More details on the Asda site HERE
