Milka Nussini Cocos - White Choc & Coconut Wafer.

I purchased this Milka Nussini Cocos bar from Monster Sweets recently. I couldn't resist the lure of the white chocolate and coconut combination! It's also available in a Hazelnut version too (see here). These chocolate covered wafer bars are originally from Germany.

The appearance is fairly basic and very pale. The outer chocolate coating looks quite thin and there are lots of visible coconut flakes within it. I usually find white chocolate and coconut work very well together and that's happily the case in this Nussini Cocos. From the start it has a lovely sweet and creamy coconut scent.

This continues in the flavour of the thin covering of white chocolate, which is very tasty in it's own right, and provides the bar with a delicious background flavour of creamy vanilla. There is also lots of sweet coconut coming through in the chocolate and of course within the wafer layers themselves. The wafer is quite soft and crumbly, as it's completely flavoured and embedded with coconut. The wafer layers are not clearly defined between wafer and coconut cream, but rather seem to have slightly blended together into one. It's all very similar to the Polish Nestle Princesa Kokosoawa, another white chocolate and wafer bar, but I would say that I slightly prefered the Milka version, especially in regards to the delicious outer chocolate.

  3. I enjoy your blog as I consider myself a bit of a foodie and love limited edition products. I'm not criticizing you, I'd just like to know out of interest how you can afford these luxury items? Lord knows my grocery bill has rocketed this past year and has seen me dramatically cut back to the point that fruit is a luxury! So is your grocery budget pretty high or do you use coupons or something?

    1. Hi there! Firstly thank you for taking the time to comment, it's always great to hear from a new reader.

Regarding your second point, I completely agree with you that food has become very expensive and I've definitely cut back on my basic weekly shop in the last few years. When it comes to the food to review, I always try to get them when they're on offer and luckily new foods can often be found on some kind of "introductory offer". If not then I simply wait until they are! I look at the various supermarket websites to see if there are any offers about.

A lot of the things I buy to review are quite low value anyway, often around the £1 mark. Also I'm lucky enough to be sent a few items to review, which enables me to post as often as I do. (In the early days I posted a few times a week if that).

It helps that I don't have any vices (apart from coffee!), I don't smoke or drink for example. I try to cook meals from scratch, rarely buy takeaways, and hardly ever go to restaurants... so this blog is my main hobby really!

If I start blogging about caviar, truffles and champagne then you'll know I've won the lottery ;)
