New Kellogg's Nutri-Grain Cinnamon Crunchy Oat Granola

When I think of Kellogg's Nutri-Grain cereal bars I think of the Soft Fruit breakfast bakes, Elevenses range or the relatively new Breakfast Biscuits. Now there is another addition to the range, these Nutri-Grain Crunchy Oat Granola. They are available in three flavours; Honey, Chocolate Chip or Cinnamon.

I went straight for the Cinnamon variety. My husband loves cinnamon but he hates raisins, which tends to rule out most cinnamon based cereal bars. They nearly always have some kind of dried up fruit in them. I bought a box which contains five packs, each with 2 bars. Although I would say they are less of a bar and more of a hard biscuit.

Remind you of anything? I would say these bars look more than a little similar to the Nature Valley range of Granola bars. The overall taste is delicious. They have a lovely oaty flavour, which is very satisfying. The texture is crunchy but also quite crumbly, and dissolves easily to a lovely buttery melt. These are perfect for a tea or coffee break - a hot drink really helps break them down!

Best of all, the cinnamon flavour is strong and sweet; it's not overpowering and perfectly compliments the oaty flavours of the base. A great snack for any cinnamon fan (and anyone who loves the Nature Valley granola bars!).

  1. 9/10! Another bar to add to my list. Kelloggs seem to have been inspired by their competitors. Breakfast biscuits (belvita), biscuit moments (go ahead), moons & stars (weetos) and now these. These certainly look healthy, at 9g sugar

    1. It's 9 out of 10 just because we love cinnamon so much! You're right about the inspiration from other products!

  2. Mmmmm lovely, i love anything oaty, love cinnamon and luckily for me love anything with raisins/sultanas as like you say a lot of oaty and/or cinnamon thigs come with them! Sainsburys do a bag of Granola slices in their bakery range which are lovely but more like flapjack that the harder, crispy variety - they hve sultanas and cranberries in tho

    1. oooh I'll look out for the granola slices in Sainsbury's, they sound delicious. It's only the hubby that doesn't like raisins, I'm fine with them :-)

  3. They look nice, I think Kelloggs do Breakfast biscuits well, My favourites are those in a blue box, Nutri-Grain Cereal and Milk ones, those are yummy with a cup of tea in a morning, very filling, but those that your reviewing there look more like a flapjack to me, and I love flapjacks so I'll be looking out for those, I do my shopping in Asda, hope they stock them. =)
I love your blog by the way, you've given me inspiration for my next big shop. =)

I haven't tried the Nutri-Grain Cereal & Milk but I know the ones you mean! I'm now craving a cup of tea and a biscuit - I'll be adding them to my shopping list now :D

  4. Great find Katherine. I am not a huge fan of cinnamon, it's OK if it's a hint of it but these might be too hardcore for me. However I think my husband would love these so I shall look for them for him.

  6. don't be fooled, these should be a treat and not a snack as they are unhealthy, a common theme of the items reviewed on this site haha

  7. Very unhealthy as anonymous has said.
Nearly 25% sugar and 7g fat in 2 bars.
    High Fructose Corn Syrup
Colouring (artificial) Red No. 40 and Blue No. 1 Now derived from petroleum, chemical food colorings have been suspected to be a cause of hyperactivity in children and colon cancer, and death in those very ill and hospitalized.

So not so healthy after all
